5 øre stationery envelope sent as a postcard with COD to Norway 24/Mar/1894. On 01/Jul/1892, UPU introduced simple regulations for international letter mail with COD. Postcards with COD had to be prepaid as standard registered postcards. No COD fee had to be prepaid. Instead, a COD fee of 10 øre plus the postage for the money order used to return the collected money to the sender was deducted from the amount paid out to the sender. However, Denmark made bilateral agreements with Sweden and Norway that COD letters should only be prepaid as standard, non-registered letter mail (UPU allowed neighboring countries to bilaterally agree on rates lower then the UPU rates!). Here is an example of such a postcard!
